Overview
An augmented reality application that recognises Ramayana masks and gives information about each one. It was exhibited at the Art et Collection museum in Crans-Montana.

Built with
- Unity
- Xcode
- C#
3D recognition
When visitors want more information about a mask, they place it in front of the camera of the iPad. The mask is recognised by the application, which then displays its information.
Because the masks are three-dimensional and sculptural, recognition had to hold up from the varied angles and lighting conditions of a real exhibition space.
Designing for the museum floor
The experience had to be legible to visitors who had never used an AR application before, with no instructions.
Information was structured so that the essentials appear immediately on recognition, with further detail available for anyone who wants to keep reading.
