Overview

AABA connects seniors through regular activities in a Swiss valley. As a volunteer, I designed their website and created the seasonal programme flyers used by members to discover and follow their events throughout the year.

The flyer

Front cover of the second edition — the same mirror ball, the new season and the transport numbers
August and September: a wood-fired pizza workshop, a village history walk with the mayor, a lakeside barbecue and pétanque
October and November: an autumn outing, a games afternoon and a talk, each with its meeting point and price
December: a Christmas craft session and a fondue walk, with the registration contact beside each event

Not a seniors website

Most communication designed for this audience follows the same visual codes: soft blue-grey palettes and generic images of elderly people being assisted. It often represents an idea of ageing rather than the people it is meant for.

The website and flyers were therefore designed like any other project, without stereotypes or limitations. The disco ball became the visual signature of the identity — a playful reference to the generation that grew up with disco and a subtle nod to the association’s name, AABA (ABBA).

02

Clarity above everything

Every event, on the website and in print, follows the same structure with the same information presented in the same order. This consistency makes the programme easier to scan and prevents confusion when looking for practical details.

03

A flyer people wait for

Twice a year, the programme is sent out as a printed flyer. More than a simple communication tool, it has become a small tradition within the association: members look forward to receiving it, keep it at home, and use it to plan the activities they want to join over the following six months.
